GreenLogistics Hackathon – Innovation for a Sustainable Future in Logistics
Vilnius, Lithuania (31 May – 2 June 2024) – The GreenLogistics Hackathon, organised by Transporto Inovacijų Asociacija in collaboration with Katalista Ventures and Tech Zity, and proudly sponsored by the ADMIRAL project, recently concluded in the vibrant city of Vilnius. This dynamic event brought together 13 innovative and international project teams, all focused on the main challenge: how to reduce CO2 emissions in logistics chains through process optimisation and digitalisation.
DAY 1 – INTRODUCTIONS AND IDEA PITCHES
The Hackathon started with a warm welcome to the participants and an introduction to the main challenge. Teams then presented their innovative ideas for tackling CO2 emissions in logistics. This opening day set the stage for the intense development and collaboration that was to follow, and highlighted the enthusiasm and commitment of the participants to sustainability in the logistics sector.
DAY 2 – DEVELOPMENT AND MENTORING
The second day was dedicated to development, with teams working diligently to refine their ideas and solutions. Participants had the valuable opportunity to receive guidance from experienced mentors in the field of green logistics, including:
– Arnoldas Nauseda, co-founder of Vertablox and board member of cargoGO
– Radhika Ralhan, Global Sustainability Impact Leader and Faculty at Smart Freight Centre Academy
– Jacqueline Fritz, Project Manager at Steinbeis Europa Zentrum
– Ieva Markucevičiūtė-Vinckė, Transport Digitalisation Policy Expert at NORMALIS TECH
– Elisabete Arsénio, Principal Investigator at LNEC Dep. of Transport
– Viktorija Terekė, Head of Sustainability at Girteka Group
– Daniel Gvozdovič, CEO of SpotGo
– And many more experts dedicated to supporting innovative solutions in logistics.
The collaborative spirit and expert guidance helped the teams refine their projects and prepare for the final presentations.
DAY 3 – FINAL PRESENTATIONS AND AWARDS
On the final day, the teams showcased their impressive results by pitching their projects in 3-minute presentations followed by a Q&A session. The jury, made up of industry leaders such as

carefully evaluated the presentations and selected the winners.

– 3rd place: ETA – Helping companies improve supply chain efficiency.
– Audience Pick: Voovoo – Fleet management solution using intelligent co-pilot technology to improve road safety.
All the teams demonstrated remarkable innovation and commitment, making the selection process highly competitive!
WRAP-UP
The Green Logistics Hackathon was the grand finale of an exciting week for the ADMIRAL project, which included the Partner Meeting and the Green Logistics Masterclass. Participants left Vilnius with a wealth of new knowledge, new connections and a renewed commitment to advancing sustainability in the logistics sector.
As the ADMIRAL project continues to drive innovation and sustainability, the Green Logistics Hackathon marks another important milestone towards a greener future for logistics.
